Justin Roote
BIO:
Justin Roote is a local music educator and performer. He earned his bachelor’s in music education from Marywood University and his master’s from Texas A&M University-Commerce, where he graduated summa cum laude with a focus in instrumental conducting. While in Texas, Justin conducted the university’s concert and symphonic bands as a graduate teaching assistant and studied wind instrument pedagogy and literature, culminating in a thesis on influential pieces and how to approach them with young musicians. He has performed across the country with the Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band, NYSMF Classical Saxophone Institute, TAMUC Saxophone Quartet, and
Marywood University Chamber Singers, touring California, the east coast, and Canada. Now back in northeastern PA, Justin has been teaching band at Pittston Area Middle School since 2015.
